Chinese handset maker is all set to add a new device under the Redmi 2 series. We have earlier discussed about the Xiaomi Redmi 2 Note. In an upcoming event scheduled in India Xiaomi is prepping to launch its new series. The latest arrival is already in buzz after being spotted with Amazon India. The device goes by the name Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime. The smartphone sports 4.7-inch display, quad-core CPU coupled with 2GB RAM, 8MP rear camera and KitKat OS with MIUI 7.

As per the specifications, Xiaomi Redmi 2 Prime features 4.7-inch with 720 by 1280 pixels resolution. It is running on Android 4.4 KitKat with MIUI 7 OS.
Under the hood, the Redmi 2 Prime packs quad-core Cortex-A53 processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset) clocked at 1.2 GHz. In terms of memory, the smartphone is offered with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot for additional storage.
On the imaging front, the Xiaomi handset sports 8MP rear facing camera with LED flash for photography and video recording. There is a 2MP front snapper for video chats and selfies. Connectivity-wise, the smartphone supports usual options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, GPS, etc. It is backed by 2,200 mAh battery life.
