The Taiwanese smartphone maker expands their Desire series with the launch of HTC Desire 616. Though the handset was flashed in China, now the buzz is that it is all set to reach other potential markets in Asia. Desire 616 runs on the latest KitKat OS, features a 5-inch display, and powered by octa-core CPU. The smartphone dwells some decent specs that makes it more adorable in Asia. HTC Desire 616 will be soon flooring in countries like Russia, South Asia, etc.
HTC Desire 616 to hit Asian Countries with 8-Core CPU
HTC announced Desire 616 in May and was seen in China the following month. The smartphone is all set to debut in Asian markets soon. It is likely to ship Russia, North Asia and South Asia. Specific Countries are yet to unveil.
Coming to specs-sheet, Desire 616 on the software front is running on Android v4.2.2 with HTC’s Sense 5.5 UI. The smartphone features 5-inch HD touchscreen display having a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It measures 142 x 71.9 x 9.2 mm and weighs about 150g.
Under the hood, the smartphone packs Octa-core MediaTek processor clocked at 1.4GHz. In terms of memory, the device is offered with 1 GB RAM, 4GB of internal storage that can be extended using microSD card slot.
The HTC smartphone driven by 8-core CPU, on the camera section sports 8-megapixels with autofocus and LED flash for photography and video recording. On the front side it features a 2MP front facing camera. On the connectivity terms, the smartphone supports usual options like Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, microUSB v2.0, GPS/A-GPS, etc. It is backed up by the 2000 mAh battery. Three colour variants are made available i.e. Black, White, and Red.
Specs are quite decent but the older version Android v4.2.2 running on the smartphone instead of KitKat OS will be great disadvantage for the smartphone. There are smartphones in the market running on the latest KitKat OS so how the Asian folks react to the smartphone depends on time.
