What can be the best way for an emerging company to establish itself in the highly competitive mobile market? The answer is simple – Provide more features at the least possible price. And keeping this mantra in mind, Spice have launched a mid-range mobile device, called the Spice Stellar Virtuoso Pro Mi-491 and is the latest addition to their Stellar Series of Smartphones. A whole lot of features have been provided at a very affordable price which can leave customers spoilt for choice for whether to go for the popular brands that provide so many features at a hefty price or whether to trust the not-so-popular brand and take away with more features at fewer prices.
The Stellar Virtuoso Pro Mi-491 is powered by a Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 processor along with 512MB RAM. It is fitted with Mediatek MT6577 chipset and has a PowerVR SGX531u GPU. These all combine to give a decent performance as the speed of the device is good and there aren’t many lags. Navigating through applications is fast. It weighs 143 grams and has a sleek design which looks very good.
It has a 4.5 inches TFT Capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels and 228ppi pixel density. The resolution is not too great but the screen is bright and the viewing angles too are good which leaves you with no room to complain. It runs on Android OS v4.1 Jelly Bean and has an internal memory of 4GB. An external micro SD card slot has also been provided which supports up to 32GB memory.
It sports a 5 MPrear camera with 2592 х 1944 pixels resolution and gives decent enough pictures. The pictures aren’t crisp and sharp but are focused and detailed. It records good enough videos which are certainly not among the best but again at such a low price, you can’t ask for more. A front 1.3MP camera has also been provided for making video calls.
It has Bluetooth v3.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB v2.0 slot for connectivity and an Accelerometer is also added. A 3.5mm audio jack is provided at the top and the speakers come with SRS enhancement which boosts up the sound of the device. It comes with a 1,700mAh Li-ion battery which provides up to 5 hours of continuous talk time and 210 hours of standby time. Though it cannot last for even near a full day with continuous usage and this is the biggest disadvantage as you may have to charge the device more than once a day.
To conclude, we can say that at a price of only about Rs. 7,000, The Spice Stellar Virtuoso Pro Mi-491 is a very good phone with some nice features in it and will surely attract many users. Except the relatively poor battery, most of the features are good and can’t really be complained about. And hence, Spice can potentially bridge a lot of gap with its competitors with this device.
