Apple in an event last Thursday presented the all new model of Apple MacBook Pro along with latest versions of iPad and iPad Mini. This new laptop has a few minor performance as well as visual improvements over the existing models. Besides running the all new Intel processors, it would also pack the incredible Retina display technology from the company. These improvements have also added a few bucks to the pricing strategy which was being followed by Apple in previous versions.
As per Apple, the new 13 inch MacBook Pro would be powered by the latest 4th generation of processors from Intel. The Intel fourth generation i5 dual core processor would provide speeds as high as 2.6 GHz, which would further be extendable to 3.1 GHz under Turbo Boost. A more powerful model would run the i7 version providing processing capabilities of 2.8 GHz which would be as high as 3.3 GHz with Turbo boost. Apple claims that the new laptops now feature the latest Intel Iris technology which would make the performance of the retina display up to 90 percent faster as compared to the previous models. The battery backup too has now been improved for up to 9 hours, which is about 2 hours more as compared to last laptops. RAM options available would include 4 GB and 8 GB in i5 and up to 16 GB in i7, while in terms of hard drive, users can choose from 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB.
Even the 15 inch model has been modified to provide an overall faster performance than before. This model now features Intel fourth generation quad core processors for efficient processing capabilities along with the same Intel Iris technology for gaining the most of the Retina display. Processor options include i5 and i7; RAM options available are 4 GB, 8 GB, and 16 GB; while hard drive options include 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. Apple also says that the new technology it has used in its flash drive would improve the reading speeds by almost 60 percent.
The new laptops are simply much faster, offer better display, and provide more battery life as compared to previous generations. There have been no amendments in the shape, size, or external looks of the system, and they still look the classy Apple products. These gadgets would run on the Apple OS X Mavericks which bundles more than 200 new features like iLife, iWork, etc. Apple has always be well renowned for its pricing strategies keeping the laptops restricted only to a certain class of people, and same is the case with the latest announcements. The company has surely depicted no mercy while setting the prices for these gadgets. The high end devices have been reserved only for the most luxurious class. The high performance gadgets are sure to plunge Apple back into the race of superfast ultrabooks being developed under Intel’s new initiative which aims at providing performance with mobility.
